Experienced Support

I have been a Physiotherapist for 13 years and work solely with babies and young children.

I have the clinical experience and skills to work with developmental delay as well as disability including complex presentations.

Throughout my career I have worked with children of all ages, however over time I have honed in my skills and knowledge to be specific for babies and young children.

I have experience helping infants who have congential presentations as well as those with complex disabilities or developmental delay.

What I can help with

I am passionate about helping babies and young children to move their bodies and explore their world.

Another passion of mine includes helping allied health professionals to develop skills to work successfully with children.

Torticollis

Torticollis is a condition in which the neck is rotated and tilted to one side. It that typically arises from positioning in utero.

Torticollis is easy to treat with a few Physiotherapy treatment sessions, however, if left untreated, it may cause problems with tummy time and flat spots to develop on the head (such as plagiocephaly).

Development
Delay

Some babies need a bit of extra support to achieve their motor milestones such as rolling, sitting, crawling or walking.

There can be many reasons as to why a baby might be delayed in their development such as premature birth, hip dysplasia, posture, health condition or disability.

With a thorough assessment including standardised assessment, observation and hands on assessment, an individualised plan can help them get onto the right track to develop.

Disability

I have experience supporting children who have a disability such as Cerebral Palsy or Genetic condition. I can provide ongoing Physiotherapy, provide Equipment Prescription and reports.

My experience also includes working with neurodivergent children to support their understanding of their body. This can help children to develop balance, coordination and motor skills.

Assessments

Some children may require a Physiotherapy assessment to look at a child's overall gross motor function.

This could be for an NDIS plan, to support a Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA), paediatrician or other third party.

A once off assessment and report can be completed in the comfort of your own home.

Education

I offer educational workshops to learning centres such as childcares.

  • Move and Groove

A fun music and movement based session to get little ones (any age) to participate in moving their body. I will teach hands-on strategies to work with infants to participate in this. And how to engage and include neurodivergent children.

  • Development Deep Dive

An interactive look at childrens gross and fine motor development. We will look at stages of development, play styles, reasons for delays, developmental checklists, I will also go over how to provide hands-on support for children who are behind compared with peers.

Mentoring

I offer once off or ongoing mentoring support to other allied health professionals such as Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Developmental Educators and Teachers.

My support includes once off sessions, ongoing mentoring and group learning courses and workshops.
